What is Project One Step? First, it is a music ministry; we believe music is the most beautiful language and when you combine music with the greatest story ever told, the result is something very powerful. (Psalm 98)
Second, we believe the Bible calls us to be one family of God…..united in our faith, not divided by human weakness and interpretation. (John 17: 20-23, Romans 12: 3-8)
Third, Jesus taught that the greatest commandment is to “love God with all our hearts, and our neighbors as ourselves”. He said that when we feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and visit the sick and imprisoned, it is as if we are doing it for Him. (Micah 6:8, Matthew 25: 31-46, James 1:27)
We are a “music ministry uniting people of faith and lifting up people in need”! That is the metric by which all our activities are measured. All of our events are presentations of sacred music of various styles and formats, intended to unite Christians in praise and glory to God and in service to His children by using all the proceeds from our concerts to address poverty within the Pocono community.
Since 2013 our concerts have netted more than $50,000 for agencies that assist Monroe County residents in need. We are currently focusing on Bridges Out of Poverty and Fill a Glass with Hope.
Why are we called Project One Step?
Our inspiration comes from Pepper Choplin’s well-known anthem, “One Step He Leads”. It is our desire that our ministry be always directed by God and that we never waver from that “one step he leads and one step we follow” mantra. It is our experience that God is faithful and all of us are blessed, and can be a blessing, as we “seek first His kingdom and all that is right”.
